Contents page 3
This is a contents page of a vintage 'Q' magazine.
On this contents page it is advertising 8 articles that are inside this magazine. This contents page is split up into 6 sections. Splitting up the contents make this page look more interesting. This is because the information is displayed in different formats which gives variation to this page.
This magazine contents page is set up differently compared to others. This is because there is no clear definition into columns. They have chosen to create one large box which is separated into different sections and then there is the 'Q Review' which is a different section and then there is the 'Plus' section at the bottom of the contents page.
In total this contents page has 7 different photographs. Putting a photograph next to the article it is linked with is something i would consider using. This is because if the reader buys the magazine they may be unsure of some of the artists inside it, but with the use of pictures it gives a clearer view of who the articles.
The sizes of page numbers used on this contents page vary, this makes it look more interesting. There is six different sizes of page numbers used. I also like how they have used different colours for the puffs that the page numbers are on. In my magazine on my contents page i may consider using different colours for the puffs that the page numbers are on as it makes it more them more outstanding.
The 'Q' magazine logo features twice in there contents page. It features in the masthead and it also features for the 'Q Review'. I personally like the idea of the 'Q Review' as it lets the magazine producers give there opinions and thoughts on things that are happening in the music industry.
All 7 of the photographs on this contents page are different. They are all taken in different places. Four of the photographs are studio shots and the other three are location shots. The location the photograph is taken depends on the genre of the article and what the article is about.
The publishers of 'Q' magazine are Bauer.
The images used on this page link to the genre of this magazine as they all look old fashioned and dated. They have created the vintage theme by using vintage style clothing.
